Our 5-Step Coastal Window Cleaning Process — Built for San Clemente Glass

This is not a standard residential cleaning process. Every step is adapted for Pacific salt film, hard water mineral deposits, marine layer residue, and canyon dust. Here is exactly what happens on every San Clemente job.

Step 1 — Assessment and Surface Identification

Before touching a single pane, we inspect the glass under polarized light and identify the contamination type and stage. Salt etching stages 1, 2, and 3 require different approaches. LOW-E coated glass requires different tools. Hard water deposits require pre-treatment. We identify all of this before quoting or starting.

Step 2 — Pre-Treatment (Where Required)

Established hard water calcium deposits are pre-treated with acid-based mineral removal solution before the main clean. This step is skipped if deposits are absent — we do not apply chemicals unnecessarily. If salt etching is Stage 2 or 3, we disclose this to the homeowner before starting.

Step 3 — Deionized Water Wash

All glass is washed with water from our reverse osmosis and deionized water system. Zero TDS output means no mineral residue when the water dries. This is the only method that does not re-contaminate coastal glass with California’s hard municipal water.

Step 4 — Tracks, Sills, Frames, and Screens

Every job includes tracks vacuumed and wiped, sills cleaned, frames wiped down, and screens removed, washed with deionized water, and reinstalled. We do not offer glass-only cleans. Leaving contaminated tracks and screens in place means the glass re-hazes within days.

Step 5 — Inspection and Walkthrough

Final inspection of all glass under natural light. Walkthrough with the homeowner or property manager before payment. If anything is not to standard, we re-clean at no charge before we leave.
